Today we announce for our readers new weird music on-line magazine. It's called "Ooks Popzine" and it goes in beta version now. You can read it here. It's in russian now so our russian readers may be glad of discovering it. There are such rumours that Ookszine will be in English soon to get the international readers army.

band spotlight: them:youth.

Here it is! Them:Youth is another English band with very nice, retro-modern and perspective electronic sound. The band has produced a brand new official video for their latest single "Toothache". The single is available as free download from the band's website. The video was directed by Daniel Storey at Cross Roads Films.  Them:Youth  will continue to bring their live experience in the  tour this Autumn.

Recently we've got the mail from the guys that should take a fancy of you. They are from Swindon and  play raw guitars with a lo-fi edge. As their manager said: "Napoleon in Rags are one of the most exciting live new bands you'll see", they've already performanced on the Glastonbury BBC introducing stage and have supported such bands as Bombay Bicycle Club and Babyshambles.

TOP: 3 covers of kylie's "confide in me".

Recently Hurts did a BIZ-session for Sun TV where they have covered the famous Kylie Minogue's song. They also perform their own songs "Wonderful Life" and "Blood, Tears and Gold".  The full version of the session you can watch here, really wonderful and epic. 

It is the seventh cover of the song that Kylie released as single in August, 1994. So we decided to make our own chart of the best 3 covers that were ever made on "Confide in Me". And you won't be surprised by the fact that Hurts' version of the track takes the first place.

mirrors // released ep and video.

Mirrors' video for their new single was released yesterday. It was directed by Simon Pollard and filmed in the band's native town, in Brighton's The Duke of Yorks.

The release is called "Ways to an End" and consists of two versions of the title track and two more songs. As for me this work is more Kraftwerk like, inspired by the guru of electronic music. The spirit of early 90s is also presented, especially in the video.

review: Two Wounded Birds - "My Lonesome".

It’s the first single of the band that is very highly influenced by Beach Boys' music. These guys have to be one of the most interesting acts of this year. The song will be released on “Holiday Records”, so do not skip it. Actually Two Wounded Birds are on tour with another magnificent debutants - the Drums. So far you can appreciate the video on their myspace page below.
