TOP: 3 covers of kylie's "confide in me".

Recently Hurts did a BIZ-session for Sun TV where they have covered the famous Kylie Minogue's song. They also perform their own songs "Wonderful Life" and "Blood, Tears and Gold".  The full version of the session you can watch here, really wonderful and epic. 

It is the seventh cover of the song that Kylie released as single in August, 1994. So we decided to make our own chart of the best 3 covers that were ever made on "Confide in Me". And you won't be surprised by the fact that Hurts' version of the track takes the first place.

mirrors // released ep and video.

Mirrors' video for their new single was released yesterday. It was directed by Simon Pollard and filmed in the band's native town, in Brighton's The Duke of Yorks.

The release is called "Ways to an End" and consists of two versions of the title track and two more songs. As for me this work is more Kraftwerk like, inspired by the guru of electronic music. The spirit of early 90s is also presented, especially in the video.

review: Two Wounded Birds - "My Lonesome".

It’s the first single of the band that is very highly influenced by Beach Boys' music. These guys have to be one of the most interesting acts of this year. The song will be released on “Holiday Records”, so do not skip it. Actually Two Wounded Birds are on tour with another magnificent debutants - the Drums. So far you can appreciate the video on their myspace page below.

review: John & Jehn - "Time for the Devil".

French duo from London released new single "Time for the Devil". And as 2 years have gone they are ready to release their second album in March, 2010. This single is got to underpin the long play. The thought about sixties' pop music gets to the mind when you hear that track. Actually it's a very catchy song in own style that is influenced by that decade.

The track is available for listening on the band’s myspace page now. Here is also an interesting note about where duo gets their inspiration and especially what they read now. So there’s no surprise why the single and album were called so – John reads Hermann Hesse who was a Swiss writer and essayist (famous for his novels "Siddhartha" and "Steppenwolf") and Jehn reads "The Hour of the Devil" written by Portuguese poet and writer Fernando Pessoa. Both authors lived in the beginning of the XXth century and explored in their works an individual's search for authenticity. I suppose band's upcoming release won't be deprived of conceptual ideas.
